A prayer to a new, or rather relatively new-found god; the One True God (a new Platonic Hymn)

God of Greatness, God of Goodness,

God of Beauty, God of Beautiful Veracity,

And of Solemn Truths as well,

God of Radiance and Rays of Overflowing Kindness,

God not of Cruelty and Nastiness,

Nor of Craftiness and Guile,

But God of Overwhelming Splendor and Magnificence,

Infinitely Patient, and infinitely Infinite,

Never meddling in the repugnant lower World of Men,

Never perpetrating acts of meanness or revenge,

But remaining God Beyond It All,

Distant Father of us all,

Yet Distant Mother, too,

Transcending all Distinctions, and yet

Distinguished Past All Words,

You have no Consort, yet

By your Immaculate Conception, Light shines forth forevermore;

The Blessed “Child” who always is and was, and never ceased to be,

and ever rules the Sun; the Sun of this World, and the next as well,

Perhaps conceived by your Beloved here on Earth one Fishy Little Age ago,

When Long-Haired Sages still bestrode the World;

Thou didst not grant us Knowledge of the Man, the Nazarene,

Thou didst, as if to test us, only leave us with this choice,

Mad, or Bad, and Dangerous to Know,

Or the Glimmer of an Inkling of what other Men might be,

But this I know as clearly as mine eyes know mountain peaks in May;

We need not fear, for You remain with us till the End;

You cannot rage or punish, for You, like Plato’s Monarch,

Are Gentle, and Magnificent of Mind,

You let each Creature have the Wages it most certainly deserves;

Those Wages are not yours, but inescapable and just Rewards,

For Good and Evil Deeds, and Thoughts, for Thoughts are deeds as well,

If left to cloud the Inner Sky too long,

So God of Goodness, grant this feeble prayer:

Aid us in recalling all the good we have been given,

Even in the midst of Gloom, and

Even as Unspeakable Evil is encroaching upon us,

The good times, the laughter, the love,

And the Glimpses of a Beauty only a God like you could have foreknown,

And perhaps a Venus-Aphrodite, too,

For Condemnation is not in Your Nature,

And those enthralled with judging will themselves be judged,

As severely as they censured others,

They have their reward, and the wages they earned,

As the Nazarene said,

And aid us in searching ourselves,

And in leaving the chatter behind,

For the Psyche proceeds from On High,

And the Kingdom – it is far within us, each of us,

Far beyond all the Shadows and Masks;

There the Pearl of Great Price always shines,

Which is why we must learn who we are –

And allow all your Angels to safeguard our Way,

Whether Golden-Haired Fairies or Shadows of Night,

For the Man had great humor,

And a Love below You who was ginger and fair,

Whom he honored with Glory when Death was subdued,

The Towering Princess of Art and of Lore,

Another appeal makes me search for the words,

But perhaps I should ask that you help us behave,

And to do what we should, and become who we are,

And Five makes complete even Tardy Athletes,

So my fifth small request will conclude this strange mood;

As you are One, let us become One, too,

And One Day be One with You;

Not You, but United with You, O Lord,

Lord of Lights, Lord of Wonders, Lord of Holy Ecstasy and Awe,

Lord of Ages, all the Ages, and the Ages of Ages,

And Lord even of that which none of the Ages ever knew.

Composed to the captivating ambient music piece “Distant Dreams”, by the composer and channel Dreamstate Logic.
